 伯4:1 提幔人以利法回答說、
  Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,
 伯4:2 人若想與你說話、你就厭煩麼．但誰能忍住不說呢。
  If we assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieved? but who can withhold himself from speaking?
 伯4:3 你素來教導許多的人、又堅固軟弱的手。
  Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands.
 伯4:4 你的言語曾扶助那將要跌倒的人．你又使軟弱的膝穩固。
  Thy words have upholden him that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the feeble knees.
 伯4:5 但現在禍患臨到你、你就昏迷．挨近你、你便驚惶。
  But now it is come upon thee, and thou faintest; it toucheth thee, and thou art troubled.
 伯4:6 你的倚靠、不是在你敬畏　神麼．你的盼望、不是在你行事純正麼。
  Is not this thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the uprightness of thy ways?
 伯4:7 請你追想、無辜的人、有誰滅亡．正直的人、在何處剪除。
  Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished, being innocent? or where were the righteous cut off?
 伯4:8 按我所見、耕罪孽、種毒害的人、都照樣收割。
  Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.
 伯4:9 　神一出氣、他們就滅亡．　神一發怒、他們就消沒。
  By the blast of God they perish, and by the breath of his nostrils are they consumed.
 伯4:10 獅子的吼叫、和猛獅的聲音、盡都止息．少壯獅子的牙齒、也都敲掉。
  The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions, are broken.
 伯4:11 老獅子、因絕食而死、母獅之子、也都離散。
  The old lion perisheth for lack of prey, and the stout lion's whelps are scattered abroad.
 伯4:12 我暗暗地得了默示、我耳朵也聽其細微的聲音。
  Now a thing was secretly brought to me, and mine ear received a little thereof.
 伯4:13 在思念夜中．異象之間、世人沉睡的時候、
  In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falleth on men,
 伯4:14 恐懼、戰兢、臨到我身、使我百骨打戰。
  Fear came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones to shake.
 伯4:15 有靈從我面前經過、我身上的毫毛直立。
  Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up:
 伯4:16 那靈停住、我卻不能辨其形狀．有影像在我眼前．我在靜默中、聽見有聲音、說、
  It stood still, but I could not discern the form thereof: an image was before mine eyes, there was silence, and I heard a voice, saying,
 伯4:17 必死的人豈能比　神公義麼．人豈能比造他的主潔淨麼。
  Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker?
 伯4:18 主不信靠他的臣僕、並且指他的使者為愚昧．
  Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly:
 伯4:19 何況那住在土房、根基在塵土裡、被蠹蟲所毀壞的人呢。
  How much less in them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, which are crushed before the moth?
 伯4:20 早晚之間、就被毀滅、永歸無有、無人理會。
  They are destroyed from morning to evening: they perish for ever without any regarding it.
 伯4:21 他帳棚的繩索、豈不從中抽出來呢．他死、且是無智慧而死。
  Doth not their excellency which is in them go away? they die, even without wisdom.
